Boulder Beer Company Pint Night June 23rd

added on June 14

June 23rd is Boulder Beer night at Closed For Business!

Featuring these nine delectable brews from Colorado’s First Microbrewery:
1. MoJo IPA – 7.2% ABV – Pale in color but packed with flavor, MoJo reflects the perfect balance of hop bitterness and malt character.  The unique Amarillo hop creates a big citrus flavor (think pink grapefruit!) with an ultra-crisp dry finish.
2. Flashback India Brown Ale – 6.8% ABV – Originally brewed as our special 30th Anniversary Ale, Flashback is now part of our year-round lineup.  Hoppy like an IPA, yet also dark and roasty like a brown ale, Flashback is the best of both worlds!

3. Hazed & Infused Dry-Hopped Ale – 5% ABV – Our best-selling brew is “hazed” in its natural unfiltered state, and “infused” (dry-hopped) during fermentation for big hop flavor and aroma without added bitterness.
4. Bourbon Barrel MoJo Risin’ Double IPA – 10% ABV – MoJo Risin’ is a souped-up, extreme version of our MoJo IPA, brewed with more than a half-ton of extra malt and twice the amount of hops – then double dry-hopped with Amarillos for added intensity.  This barrel-aged version was aged for aged in a 1st use Bourbon Barrel for 3 ½ months.  A nice bourbon character add to this big, hoppy alcoholic Double IPA.

5. NITRO MoJo Risin’ Double IPA – 10% ABV – A smooth and creamy nitrogenated version of our Double IPA, making it dangerously drinkable!

6. Oak-Aged, Blood Orange Golden Ale – 6.5% ABVIn a 4th use Bourbon Barrel we added 15 pounds of peeled organic blood oranges and the zest of 4 blood oranges to our Buffalo Gold Golden Ale, then added Champagne yeast to add in the fermentation of the available sugars from the fruit.  Aged 3 months.  This is a dry, clean beer with a distinct citrus character that lasts long after the first sip.

7. Bourbon Barrel Date Porter – 7% ABV – In a 2nd use Bourbon Barrel we added 6 pounds of organic dried dates to Planet Porter.  We then added Champagne Yeast to help with the extra fermentable sugars in the dates.  Aged 3 months.  This beer has a perceived increase in alcohol with a smooth chocolate flavor in the finish.

8. Sweaty Betty Blonde Wheat Beer – 5.2% ABV – An unfiltered, Bavarian-style hefeweizen with subtle hints of clove and banana.

9. Hoopla Pale Ale – 5.7% ABV – Hoopla is dry-hopped with generous amounts of Glacier hops for a fruity, floral hop aroma and flavor that will have your taste buds dancing.  Its lively hop character is wonderfully balanced with a crisp, clean finish from the unique blend of US and German grains, making Hoopla the perfect companion to festival season.

Additional notes on Hoopla: Magic happened this year in Boulder, CO, when local music and local beer came together.  In search of the perfect festival beer, the Boulder Beer brewers and avid homebrewer Kyle Hollingsworth, Keyboardist of the String Cheese Incident, joined creative forces.  Both improvisational music and brewing begin with a spark of creativity to get the groove rolling, and from there you see where the ride takes you.  Our imaginations flowed freely, and Hoopla was born.
